Founding P.M.E. (Powerful Music Entertainment) in early 2003, Dayshawn Tyrell Deadwyler (Day Day P.) started with a 40 dollar radio shack microphone, a compaq presario desktop computer, and a love for all types of music. He started the group with step-brother Chris Holiday (H.D.), freestyling over several industry instrumentals in their home in Ellington, CT. The two would record each other and play it back joking around, keeping their musical talents to themselves when Dayshawn wanted to take it a step further. Bringing along high school friend Adrian Trout (A.D.), they formed a group called the Hilltop Soldiers under the P.M.E. slogan-turned label and the rest is history.
After releasing two successful mixtapes, If I Ain't Ya Favorite, I Wanna Know Why Pt. 1 & 2 and signing two other friends, Keeron & Troy, to create the label's first hip hop duo Black Unification, Day Day P. felt it was time to put out his first official album featuring his labelmates to further establish the label. In The Shadows, the first ever album released under the P.M.E. label was created featuring the singles "Look Around", "Cop's Gotcha" Featuring H.D. and the album title track "In The Shadows". Next was A.D.'s first album, The Beginning Of The End followed by the Hilltop Soldiers debut group album, Hilltop Vol. 1 Compilation after the signing of A.D.'s talented cousin from Hartford, CT named Marlon Sutherland (Kid Money).
After 3 Years of Powerful Music, 2006 marked the year of 3 more solo albums from Day Day P. (The Piff Is My Nature, Consider Me History (double disc) & The Game's So Petty), the debut solo album from Kid Money (The Beginning Of Something New), the Incarceration of A.D., a different subdivision company of P.M.E. (Hilltop Records) and a different Hilltop Roster. Keeron & Troy (Black Unification) left the label without ever dropping an album but featured on Hilltop Vol. 1 and other solo albums throughout their career. Day Day P. signed Kid Money's friend Andre Sawyers (Dre "Hard Body") from Hartford, CT and then signed the group Tru$quad from Vernon-Rockville, CT. Day Day P. and the remaining Hilltop members then released Hilltop Vol. 2 The Mixtape showcasing the talent that was new and left on the roster which was himself, Kid Money, Dre "Hard Body & H.D. Tru$quad, led by now a well known solo artist G Pa (Shane Flanigan), would then begin to gain exposure dropping numerous mixtapes featuring Day Day P and 2 solo albums from G Pa under their Tru$quad imprint.
Now in 2008, Hilltop Records has changed once again, with the return of A.D., G Pa known more as a solo act under P.M.E, and the success by 4 more albums released by Day Day P. from 2006-2008 (Vol. 1-3 & Abstract Art). G Pa released his second controversial album entitled Spillz...My Heart Out To You dedicated to his friend Jorge Rivera who passed away and was a member of the group Tru$quad and label P.M.E. Powerful Music Entertainment has been through alot of ups and downs in the past 5 years but will still continue to do what their new motto is:
"TO MAKE POWERFUL MUSIC, PUT IT THROUGH YOUR STEREO, NO NEED FOR VIDEO."
- Day Day P. "What's The Word" Abstract Art, 2007.
