Hi!
My name is Mara Scott, I am 18 years old, and I have been breeding and raising rabbits for eight years now. I am an very involved and active member in the Elkhart County 4-H Rabbit Club and am a registered ARBA member. I currently own and operate Daybreak Rabbitry, registered #X544. Here I raise Cinnamons; Britannia Petites in chestnut and black otter; and Havanas in black, chocolate, and broken. My brother Andrew, who uses the same facilities, raises Silver Martens in black and sable, and also helps with the Cinnamons and Petites.
I have raised Havanas in black and chocolate for five years, and in 2006 purchased and started breeding broken black and chocolates.
At one point, I also raised New Zealand Whites and the rare color of Red. My brother Andrew joined our Rabbit Club in 2007, taking over the Cinnamon breed, then giving them back and switching to Silver Martens in 2008. He is not an owner or part of Daybreak Rabbitry, but uses the same facilities. (Please note that Daybreak Rabbitry's prefix is "Scott's," while Andrew Scott has the prefix "A. Scott's.")
In July of 2005, I purchased my first Cinnamon doe, Ginger. Since then I have purchased another Cinnamon, a buck from the Tjark's, at the ARBA National Convention in Indianapolis, hence his name Indy; also another pre-bred doe Aimee, from Oliver Flynn.
My brother Andrew started in the 4-H Rabbit Club in 2007. I gave him some Cinnamons and got into New Zealand Whites for my meatpens. I want to thank Greg and Kristi Rogers for their support in finding me a VERY nice trio of NZ whites. In the early part of 2007, I also purchased an AWESOME pair of NZReds, an endangered and rare variety, from James Gray.
Please contact me if you are interested in anything for sale, or just want info on rabbits or cavies. I update often. Thanks for visiting!
