David Williams Cowboy Poet

Being the Camp Poet

It's great being the camp poet cause there's no end to life's little events that can inspire a story or a poem.  However, there is a curse that comes with this and that is some of those events involve you.  So you occasionally have to write a poem on yourself before someone else decides to try their hand at it.  Should they write it, the story would be so fabricated and exaggerated that the only truth in the whole thing will be your name.  Well, of course as a poet, I never...well, hardly ever...oh, never mind.

Poems You're Hearing

"A whole wagon load of cowboy circumstances.  Folks who've 'been there' can relate, and folks who haven't will sure enough get an idea of what it's like." - Cowboy Magazine

The poem you're hearing now, Till Our Work Is Done, is a new one and will eventually come out on my third CD.  However, the poems you hear on "A Little About Me" and "Bookings & Links" come off my latest CD Riding Point.

Available on CD - Order Form

CDs are currently only available though me so if you are interested complete & mail the Order Form or contact me by email at daw3tx@sbcglobal.net.  Note: I've been told that just clicking on the email address doesn't work for everyone.  They get an error message.  My email isn't supposed to reject any incoming messages.  If that happens please paste my email address into a message using your own email provider.  Click this link for the order form http://www.freewebs.com/daw3tx/Order form.doc  Thanks

"Preserving Memories" is a full hour of 25 poems with a little music backing up each one.  I put this CD together after a lot of prodding from my friends.  They kept telling me reading the books just wasn't the same as hearing me recite them.

"Riding Point" is almost a full hour of 20 poems with background music behind each poem.  I realized I had enough material to make a second CD as I was preparing for an event on the National Day of the Cowboy.
