David Williams Cowboy Poet

About Me

First, I live in Helotes just outside San Antonio on the NW side.  I am a native Texan and have learned that my Great-Great-Great Grandparents moved here in the 1820's.  I'm part Irish, Welch, and Cherokee.

I like a wide variety of music from the 60s and early 70s.  However, my favorite is cowboy style which is different from Country Western.  To find out more look for musicans like: Red Steagall, Don Edwards, RW Hampton, Jean Prescott, or Stan Mahler.

My two favorite movies are Lonesome Dove and Young Frankenstein.  They are classics.  Of course John Wayne's version of The Alamo is probably next.  Oh by the way...I refuse to watch the remake of that.  I don't care if the remake is "more accurate"...you just don't mess with some things.

My Poems

I started putting my poems on paper in 1996.  The inspiration for the verses comes from many sources.  A poem might be about my own experiences, my faith, or my travels across this great country from  the Texas Hill Country to the New Mexico Rockies and all the way up to Alaska.  Of course my pards help inspire more than just a few of them.
