Introduction......

In the last two years my life was completely turned around and it started by being persuaded to enter the Oundle literacy Festival Poetry Slam in 2006. I was lucky enought to win it and it resulted in a professional musician, Nick Penny, a brilliant harpist and music-writer, asking me to write some words to his music. This I did and he then asked me to perform with him, and so evolved our concerts of Poetry, Music and Birdsong. It also helped me achieve a life-long ambition to produce a recording, stemming from my time performing around the clubs singing pop songs in the late fifties (which relates to the poem in my latest book, I wanted to be Elvis)

Once again I must say that you will find no cryptic hidden meanings in my poetry, what you see is what you get, but I hope you will find some of my thoughts among the lines of verse included. My latest book Welcome To My World does include some of my simple comedy poetry that Nick humours me by letting me recite it during our concerts. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it!
