The Spoils of Angel's War

This story unfolds in England at the beginning of the second world war .

It isn't a traditional love story , but it is a story that deals with the different loves in our life , romantic love , family love and finally and probably uppermost in importance at that time love of country

The main character is a young Cockney woman affectionately known as Angel, who in her formative years was taught by her grandmother to " Know your station in life , and never go above it "

Not in total agreement with grandmother Angel finds that it isn't always the plans that we make for life , sometimes its the plans that our life makes for us , events beyond our control that determines the course of our life .

This is exactly what happens in our story, events put her in a relationship with a wealthy RAF pilot (above her station ), events make her a very wealthy young woman in her own right (above her station),and through her unselfish use of her newly acquired fortunes events make her one of the most loved and famous women of her time .

The characters of Angel and her family are fiction, but the love, honor and courage depicted in the story are typical of the very real "ordinary men and women" of the Second World War period in England. They endured hardship and deprivation and the death of family and friends with a grim dertermination that their beloved England, should not, and would not fall .
