Daughter, Arise!

Undoing the damage, becoming God’s daughters.

Welcome To the Daughter, Arise Website!

Welcome To the Daughter, Arise Website! As a sufferer of eating disorders, I know what it’s like to struggle with overeating, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, as well as a whole array of food, weight and body issues. The emotional, mental and physical tortures of these disorders are difficult enough. But when the spiritual impact is experienced as well, it can seem hopeless, beyond any answer. But eating disorders are a spiritual issue- and the answer IS God, through His answer in the Person of Jesus Christ, as personal Lord and Savior, through that relationship! It’s not impossible; it’s not a lofty idea. It is a certain reality, a certain hope! I personally found that out for myself in February, 1995, when Mark 5:35- 43 in the Holy Bible came alive for me!!! It’s my prayer that it will come alive for you too!!!

That is why I’m so passionate in approaching eating disorder recovery from a Christian approach. Like my book’s title states, this has been a 12 year and counting kind of journey for me. And while each individual is unique, it is my hope that your answer, hope and healing will be from the same answer: Jesus!

You are not alone; you are not hopeless; you are valuable, loved AND beautiful! And, as long as you have Jesus, it’s NEVER too late for you to arise in your life!!!

Mark 5:35-43

“While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, "Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.”
