We are proud to welcome a new student teacher to the School Library Media Center at Dassa McKinney. Please take a minute to read her letter below.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hello! My name is Alyssa Bowser and I am a Library Science K-12 major at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. This week, I began my second student teaching placement at Dassa McKinney Elementary under the supervision of Ms. Susan Hefley. I am ecstatic to be practicing in such a focused school district and I can only imagine all the wonderful memories I will take from the this experience.
My first two weeks I will be observing the classroom to prepare myself for when I begin teaching. By week three I will be taking over the computer lab classroom, under Ms. Hefley’s supervision and guidance. All my lessons and ideas will be aligned and approved ahead of time. My main focus will be teaching students how to present their ideas on the computer using programs like PowerPoint and StoryJumper.
I have witnessed so many wonderful teaching moments and I cannot wait to begin instructing Dassa McKinney’s wonderful student body.
