EMERALDCITYOFOZSCOLLECTIBLES
Loose Vintage Star Wars Action Figures

Information about the Rare Jawa with Vinyl Cape

What makes the Rare Jawa with the Vinyl Cape authentic?
EMERALDCITYOFOZSCOLLECTIBLES
There are four (4) points one must consider:
1).Cape Texture

Original Vinyl Caped Jawas have a distinct texture on one side of the Cape. If you scrape your finger against the textured side of the Cape, it will make a faint zipping sound due to the cross-hatch pattern on the inside of the Cape. The other side is smooth.

2).Cape Color

The color of the Cape is extremely close to that of the Jawa Action Figure itself. Many reproduction Capes have hand cut Obi-Wan Kenobi Capes which are of a darker reddish-brown color. Others have a close color as the authentic Vinyl Cape but are not of the same pliability.

3).Cape Armhole Size

The armholes of the authentic Vinyl Capes fit tightly around the arms of the Jawa Action Figure. Many reproduction Capes have larger armholes since they were either hand cut or a handheld hole punch was used to create the holes.

4).Cape Material

The material used in the creation of authentic Vinyl Capes is very pliable. The reproduction Capes that closely match a authentic Vinyl Cape in terms of color are very rigid and do not fold easily like the authentic Vinyl Capes. Authentic Capes are of the same thickness and consistency as the Darth Vader (Black Cape), Lando Calrissian (Blue Cape), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Brown), Princess Leia (White), Sandpeople (Light Brown) and Snowtrooper (White) Capes.
