HIM Topsites - Best HIM sites resource!

The site started off in 1999-2000 with just myself (wickedgame_666) making/designing the whole thing as HIMonlinenz, being a New Zealand only HIM fan site, we did not attract to much attention as HIM were not so well known and there was no publicity about the site. When still on HIMonlinenz I decided to set up a mailing list, this was not very big, but kept a small community of people in touch. In 2001 as the release of 'Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights' I decided to re-make the site, the process took longer than expected, but seemed to be better than expected when re-designed. At this point of time I was getting a few more people through as HIM were ever so slightly getting a fan base in NZ.

With the release of 'Love Metal' came yet another site design, with this site I called on the help of my friend Nick (or more so known as kinopus in the internet world) to help with the designing as it was becoming a bit to much for myself.
The design process did not take long at all with two of us on the job and came out rather nicely. We also began out quest on the "him top sites' this was a good move and we got a lot more traffic through and we started to evolve into a NZ+AU site but having members from all over the world.

As the release of 'Dark Light' neared I started work on a new design having the intentions of completely changing the site even the name. Designing was taking an age so nick came to the rescue again and helped design the site we see today (The Dark Circle) this is out best design to date. 'The Dark Circle' ventured onto the wonders of myspace, we got past 200 friends predominately friends from NZ but also many from other countries, Although we now have a world wide fan base here on 'The Dark Circle' we will always stay a NZ site and will operate as one.

Oct 06 saw TDC gets New Zealand's very first street team going, there has not been too much activities going on so far apart from a mini flyer drop and a few posters put up in local record stores. A fundraiser has been run to get funds to print bumper stickers and the street tean will be in full force by the end of the year when the new album gets released.

In December 2006 TDC opened up a new section called TDC download, the page features over 50 bootlegs, mostly from HIM but features other bands such as Muse and Tool, with more bands and new bootlegs added as we find them.

2007 will see a new version of layout comming out. This layout will be up and running by early Feb.
