I will be a guest at ICON-28 on April 3rd, 4th and 5th. For those not familiar with it, ICON is a science fiction/fantasy convention on Long Island in New York. This is their 28th year of hosting the Con for Island fans and the venues will be hosted at Suffolk County Community College, Brentwood Campus, the Marriott Hotel and the Holiday Inn. For a detailed list of this year’s guests, you can visit their website at www.iconsf.org. I’ve received the author’s itinerary (that is, the portion of it that pertains to me) and I’m scheduled to panel on four topics. There’s a fine selection of authors in the program so I’m sure there will be some very lively discussions. The topics I am presenting on are: “The Evolution of Hard SF”, “Balancing Writing and Life: So Many Words, So Little Time”, “Know Your Craft: the Elements that Bring a Story to Life” and “From Lost to 24: the Popularity of SF and Fantasy Themes on TV.”These programs are scheduled at the Marriott where I will also be signing books on Saturday, April 4th from 3 to 4 PM.It’s sure to be a blast. I hope if you’re in the area, you’ll check it out.
I’m also scheduled to be selling and signing books at Scoutwalk, 2009. The Scouting event takes place on April 25, 2009 at Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn, NY. Sponsored by the Theodore Roosevelt Council, Boy Scouts of America, the event aims to help the Council, which, like everything else, has stumbled in these economic hard times. However, a large amount of Scoutwalk is “free of charge” – meaning anyone can walk the midway to see the displays and demonstrations; participate in field games; take part in the actual Scoutwalk, etc., (even get a hot dog lunch). The activities, for kids of all ages, include pig races, Native American dancing, and much more.

Hi Everyone,
I'll be heading down to Richmond, Virginia on January 30th to support a great little bookstore in its time of need. Many authors are heading over for this event which will include prizes and food and lots of fun.
To find out more, visit the Creatures and Crooks Bookshop website: http://www.cncbooks.com/bling.html.
If you live in the area, or are in the mood for a road trip, try to make it to the Books and Bling event. Meet fabulous authors, compare notes with other readers and make new friends. The even will be Saturday, January 31st from 1 to 4 PM.
In today’s economy, it's important that we support the little guy. Creatures and Crooks is a niche bookstore that specializes in mystery, science fiction, fantasy and horror. Here's an opportunity to support your local bookstore and win fabulous prizes.
Hope to see you there!
Okay guys. Here's the info on my next radio interview. It's tomorrow night. The link is below and it looks like it will available on podcast afterwards in case anyone misses it.
There is a call in number at the end for people to call. So if you've read the book, you can ask questions.
