2008-2009 Special Events

Brown Bag at the Bay will present live music every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 pm. during the month of September and October at May Day Pier. Bring your lunch. Picnic tables are available. This program is brought to you by the City of Daphne and Radio Avalon's Catt's Sunday Jazz Brunch. 

The 4th annual Celtic Celebration will be Sunday, November 2 from 2-5 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Complex Plaza, 2605 Hwy 98.  Mithril will be this year’s headline, additional performers to be announced. Admission is FREE!  Refreshments will also be available for purchase.  Please be sure to bring you own seating. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled.  Sponsored by the City of Daphne.

 

The City of Daphne will host its first ever Veteran’s Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11 at 10 a.m. A ceremony to honor veterans will happen immediately following the parade at City Hall. Click here for a Parade Registration Form.

 

The Annual Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting will be Thursday, December 4 with the parade rolling at 6:00 p.m. down Main Street. The Tree Lighting program will immediately follow the parade in front of City Hall, 1705 Main Street, at 7:00 p.m.  At the Tree Lighting enjoy live entertainment, refreshments and of course a special visit from Santa. Music Under The Stars will be held April 25-26 from 6-9 p.m. each night. More details to come

Art in the Park is scheduled for May 28 and June 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lott Park.  This event provides free activities and attractions for the community.  Some of the activities to expect are clowns, magicians, Funny Farm Petting Zoo, themed arts & crafts, face painting, train rides, Gyrospace, games, prizes, spacewalks, music and Fire Fighter Tom & the Antique Truck.  Refreshments, including hotdogs, snow cones and popcorn, are also provided free of charge.

Wet N’ Wild Wednesdays are for families to come and beat the heat during the month of June, free of charge.  The kids will enjoy large water slides, slip n’ slides, as well as a variety of wading pools for the little ones.  The event is for kids age 2-12.  The 2007 Wet N’ Wild Wednesdays will be held at Lott Park on June 10, 17 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
