Only one basic rule: run 50 composite stealth. That means spec enough stealth that when you add template/RR bonuses it all adds up to 50.
Note: if you are sub-RR5 and think you can gain RRs quickly, start out at about 35 stealth… the first few RRs can go very quickly and you’ll save yourself some respec stones this way. If you’re starting out with terrible gear and you’re inexperienced, try starting with 37 stealth.
Templating stealth: a great shortcut for templating stealth is to put 8 stealth on a small shield. You will have 3 stealth from shades of mist, bringing the total stealth in your template to 11. Quick bind your one hand weapon and your stealth button right next to each other on your keyboard. Whenever you go into stealth, hit the weapon button before you hit the stealth button. Your stealth level is checked only upon entry into stealth mode and with shield equipped you will have the full amount. You can then switch to either bow or 2-hander without impunity.
Note: my advice on the stealth shield is based on personal experience and contradicts a post form the grab bag.
