Our love of staffies

We accquired our first stafford  back in 1992 , his name was ninja.,and was eighteen months old. He was a black brindle with white bib and paws. He was a fantastic character, great personality, and very funny. He was fearless, protective and very loyal and loved everyone. Sadly he was lost to cancer in 2005 when he was nearly fifteen. We vowed never to have another, but our lives like our house was empty without him. We still miss him not being around, but we decided to have another, as life's too short to be without one.

After months of searching for the right one we accquired Dante, a black show stock stafford and the grandson of the current breed record holder CH Valglo Casanova of Crossguns and the son of Crashkon Smoking Joe. His other grandfather is Crashkon What a Cracker. He has many champs in his pedigree and is from good stock.   He has a great character too, like all Staffords, (you can't replace the ones you've lost,)but he is a very welcome new addition to our family, and we're so glad we have him. We are currently starting to show him and attending ring-craft. He is now sixteen months old.. He's very loving and loves to cuddle and loves his daily walks in the countryside and riding shotgun in the car.

Dante is now 22months old and he's grown into a lovely boy. He's cheeky and funny and very clever, as staffords are. He still attends our local Ring Craft and gets better all the time.

When we first attended he was over 12mths old and he'd never worn a collar and lead, he wore a harness, so he absolutley hated his lead and fought with it as we tried to walk him up and down. I was thinking of giving it up, but was encouraged by the other members to keep persisting with it and he did improve. Now he associates his collar and lead with going out and he loves it.  Our journey into the show world began when we were out walking him one day and we bumped into an old breeder and his wife ( used to breed and show but now retired) and was advised by him to attend our local ring craft and show him as he was a 'goodun'. So we are new to it all and am learning along with Dante. We just love to be around staffies and ring craft is a great place to see them all together and talk to other owners about this wonderful breed.

We now have a new girl named Tia, she is out of a black dam and sire, she is nine weeks old and adorable. Check out her pics on Tia's pics. I will up-date with new pics often. She is line bred to dante. Her grand-sire is valglo albertini and her other grand-sire is crashkon what a cracker so she is of good stock.    She is very sassy and independant and likes stealing food from dantes bowl, she is very greedy although shes well fed. Her ears have just creased / rosed at nine weeks. Shes very podgy and big for her age and we spoil her of course. Dante shares his toys with her and is very good with her even when she bites his jowls and makes him cry hes not aggressive with her, just miffed and sits on the stairs when shes naughty to stay away from her needle teeth. They snuggle up and sleep together.
