How to create videos for you mobile device
(free software)

Applications needed:

Virtual Dub download here.
Divx Codec download here (comes with the player).
MP3 Codec download here (May be a mp3 codec installed already).

Load Virtualdub.

Select File, Open you dvd vob or other file type (Please note wmv's arent supported)

Select video, compression. Now select the divx codec and (2) click the configure button.
(You need to be using at least 1024x768 resolution on your moitor now, or the buttons with be off screen)

At this stage it all depends on the specifications of your device, i have an a925, so i set my video bitrate
to 128kbs, its up to you what you decide to use. (3)Now click the video tab,

Here you can select the resolution of the video to match your device, again the a925's is 320x208 tick enable resize box to change,
also tick the bicubic normal box.
If your file is a vob or a file made to be viewed on a tv do the following if not skip this step, though it maybe wise to do this anyway it wont hurt.
Set interlacing to deinterlace source. (If you dont do this step and it was originally interlaced you will get a wobbley line effect which loOKs very poor.)
Select OK. (you maybe prompted to try divx pro
just say no) then OK again.

Click video then framerate. In the 'framrate conversion' section select 'convert fps' here id recommend a minimum of 12, i use 18fps on my a925. Click OK.

Now for the audio, click audio, then full processing. Now click audio again then compression. Select the mpeg layer 3 codec. Tick the box which reads 'show all formats' note this is another case of personel preference, i use 16kps 16.000hz which is the bare minimum id recommend, its down to you and your device. click OK.

Now i increase the volume of my audio because the A925 is quiet to say the least, you may not need too. Click audio then volume and tick the box, now select a percentage i use around 150%. Click OK.

Thats basically it, but have a play around, im still playing around with it. If you want me too add anything to the guide
please email me. Or if ive done something wrong :( lol.

Now click file, save as avi. Then sit back and voila. Heres my email, should you need help.Dan
