Carpool Information
Meet at the designated times and places to decide who will drive and who will ride with whom. It is courteous to offer the driver a couple bucks for gas, but some drivers will refuse. It also usually helps to phone a few folks to see if anyone is going.
All organized carpools from GR will now meet at the same place before going N, S, E, or W. The new location is the Family Fare food store parking lot near the 68th St exit of US-131. Of course, this is right next to the M-6 interchange. Meet at the south edge of the parking lot near the Fifth Third Bank. Keeping lights on while waiting until acknowledged or some other way of recognizing one another would be good...

This page updated March 12, 2005.
The long-standing ride-share to dances we all grew to know and love broke down somewhere along the way a few months back. We'd like to get the word out again.
Think of this as OUR COMMUNITY RESOURCE- open to anyone! We can pass the information along at dances.
Dancepooling is a great way to welcome newcomers, and a chance to get to know those we don't often have time to socialize with. Plus we save money and be good environmentalists.
We could gather a list emails and phone #'s for Contra-poolers use only - we could also send out a master list of carpool days, if you like. We will post Contra-pool locations and times at the dances, and Cal will keep this site updated.
As a sidenote.. we are
re-organizing and promoting the original Contra-pool, and are not
"owners" of it - although we will offer support
along the way, we trust the community will self-perpetuate our
initial efforts. Please let us know as things change and
locations are added so we can get the word out.
Please honor the privacy of others when you pass this information along - copy and paste the message or blind copy when you send to groups of friends and interested dancers.
