Race Report from Pembry 9-10/08/03
Andrew Cotton took all four races in the 125 class on his DTR 125TZ Yamaha with Mark Edwards his closest challenger until he came to grief at Paddock bend on Sunday morning. Daniel Jackson and Jay Bellers-Smith took up the challenge on Sunday but Cotton still went home safe in the knowledge that the 125 class was his. Daniel Jackson went on to take his best result yet, a 2nd place finish and two 3rds out of the 125cc's. But as always Daniel and David Barfoot were up to there usual clean antics with Daniel taking 3 wins and a 2nd in the junior class and ended up bring home £55 prize money. |

Impressive days racing for Daniel at Keevil.
For the NG Road Racing Clubs third meeting of the 2003 season, the focus for the championship title chase moved to Keevil in Wiltshire. The ex-airfield circuit has been part of the NG Road Racing calendar since 1973 and although this layout is the third incarnation it is still favoured by the riders, because as with most airfield tracks it feature a long flat-out, throttle-against-the-stop straight. This gives the riders a rare opportunity with today's track layouts to really give the bikes their head. Speed is essential at this 1.3mile track and the man with the fastest bike and the best engine preparation will shine. |
Andrew Cotton on one of Dennis Trollopes TZ125 Yamahas is already looking the class of the 2003 125cc grid with Mark Edwards chasing had. The battle that took the eye though were the ones between Junior riders Daniel Jackson and David Barfoot, the diminutive Barfoot and the lanky Jackson were very evenly matched all day and has several paint-swapping (but clean) sessions. Daniel managed a 3rd place his best so far!!! |
