Daisies Animal Sanctuary

Small Animal Services

Rehoming policy

Rabbits are rehomed at £25 each unless otherwise stated.  This is to cover the cost of food and bedding for the time they spend here, vaccinations increase the price to £30 and a neutered bunny is £60.   We vaccinate and castrate rabbits whenever possible but if your desired pet has not been neutered, we can arrange a reduced price for vaccinations and neutering before they leave.   Otherwise it is advisable that you contact your local  vet for these services.  The sanctuary will be happy to speak to any vet to confirm the health and status of the rabbit.   If you are unable to keep your rabbit for any reason we encourage and welcome any returning visitors, no questions asked.

We endeavour to make adoptees aware of all the rabbit's history that is known by the sanctuary, and we also advise on care relating to the rabbits individual character and likes and dislikes, as we feel this is vital for ensuring a life-long bond with new owners.   All rabbits are homed with 2 weeks food for change over,.  Most rabbits are very good with dogs, cats, birds and older children, but there are a few exceptions.

Sophie

Sophie came with another Lionhead from another rescue, and we believe they both may have had litters before.   She is a little shy  when picked up,  but I''m sure she will progress very quickly with the right environment and gentle handling.   She is being socialised with castrated males and doing very well,  and I must say she does like them very, very much!  She hasn't  been here long so hasn't completely settled,  so there may be much more to come!

29/02/2008 -I can now say confidently that Sophie is soppy!  She demands to have her head stroked but is still not keen on being picked up.   She would make a great girlfriend for a lucky buck .  She is quite active and jumps very high so security is a must.

MUST BE HOMED TO CASTRATED MALE WITH FREE RUN

Sunshine and Shandy

Buck and doe, the female has more hair, very lovely litter, need to be separated soon, so homes looking for an additional rabbit companion is desired.  As usual they will preferably be homed in pairs or to company.

Storm

Still very young, she came as she had been in a fight with a guinea pig,  she is very cute, friendly and lovely.

Daisy and May

Daisy is an adorable female white lop and her friend is a lovely rosette female guinea pig, their a bit shy at thhe moment but I think their used to alot more space as Daisy loves to dig holes, but they're still settling in.

Lucy and Lolly

Lucy is mum and is blind in one eye.  Because of this she needs to get used to your style of handling or she can be a bit grumpy when suprised or confused.  Lolly is her daughter and is very cute and friendly. They are not to be split up as they make an adorable pair

Blackberry

Some of you may know  we took this whole family over a period of time and so far 4 have been homed.  We still have mum, sister and his brother here now.  I must say though, the whole family have been really smashing, especially the castrated male, he was bonded to another male!

Blackberry is a little shy but is great fun to watch.  He is a little grumpy towards the other boys but is still establishing his place.  He is a little overweight so is getting lots of exercise and is loving it!  He is very suited to outdoor living.

Scott

This little fellow came from "Pets At Home" adoption centre,.  He had been there since coming from the breeder and was then at least 18 weeks old.  He had never felt fresh air, wind, sun and rain and it showed, he was very skinny and had hardly any muscle tone.  He  is quite a versatile rabbit in character but he is allergic  to wood shavings and this was affecting his respiration quite badly.  Now he is outside in the fresh air with a big thick coat and putting on some weight he's great.  He would really suit a girlfriend after he is castrated

Winston

This little chap only came yesterday and is very scared, today he ran in his bedroom every time I passed his hutch.   I don't think it will be very long though before he realises we're friends.   I know very little about his history so it's anyone's guess what he has been through.

He is still very young and this is in his favour as he is getting used to my presence very quickly.   We have even seen a few binkies!

Luna & Aqua - in foster home

This couple are a mother and daughter, they are great companions and have recently become more confident.  They haven't been here long, and they also came with daughter number two who has been rehomed as it seemed to be a case of 2 is company but 3 is a crowd!  Anyway Uncle Teddy is here, (Luna's brother). The whole family are a little chubby but are losing the pounds fast as I have cut out most of their concentrated food.  (They are all weighed regularly to help keep track.)   It would be good if these two females could be homed where they get lots of exercise.

Blossom - currently unavailable due to her behaviour

Blossom came with her mum,  Cherry, and is currently in rehabilitation as she is quite grumpy.   She doesn't like being picked up much but being small it helps in my favour.   She is very active and you can see a cute,  lively personality poking through!

Dalmation lop X babies

We have 2 black and white and one agouti and white which is definatly female, there all a really lovely confident bunch, ready at the beginning of september.
