"....and the goats are the price of a field. And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens." Proverbs 27:26b-27

We
raise Registered Nubian and Boer goats in addition to the
horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. We also keep a few turkeys, ducks,
geese and will be getting rabbits again soon. These are for our family
table. A lamb is coming soon, and we are considering two calves this
fall. Next year we embark on a beefalo breeding project.
The "Church Ladies"
~*~ Goats ~*~
All the goat does are due late spring and early summer. We
will be selling kids locally. Contact me if you are interested.
We aquired all our critters within a 6 1/2 month time
period! We came here with two dogs. We all LOVE the barn. The kids and
I have alot of chores out there when Doug is at work, so we like to
"shake things up" a little by taking the radio out with us. We feed,
water, tidy, milk, and DANCE! Yes, I know that sounds wierd. Work
doesn't seem like work when you are dancin'!(Yes- the neighbors most
likely think we are NUTS!) So, if you come to visit and we don't answer
the door...check out the party in the barn.
"A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast..." Proverbs 12:10

This is
Reuel Mei Tu's Am Meta (the black & white). She should earn her milk star in 2005 easily. Her first
freshening this year she was giving 1 1/2 gallons a day at her peak.
She was milked once daily.
I LOVE my goaties!

Sonnet, Kito, Cade, and Legacy.
Our colts, Cade and Kito were the birthday gifts
to Tori and Taylor this year. Kito was ill when we got him, and through
TLC, a good vet, good food, and prayers, he recovered completely. He is
the Palamino Pinto below. The boys are just one month apart in age, and
we got them quite young. We brought their mammas with them until they
were weaned.
Kito
in the backyard with Dad and Taylor. We try to expose the colts to
everything we can. We want them to be familiar with a variety of
situations so they will be better horses for the kids.
Tori & Kito
Here's Cade, just a couple weeks old.
All four at feeding time from behind.
From the front.
From the side.
This is Blossom. She is a geriatric Golden Retriever, and is Doug's dog. She loves to follow the children around.
More goats....
This is Doug and Tori with Clair when we first got her.
Here she is Feb. 27, '05 due to kid in about 6 weeks.
Doug has
given our barn quite an overhaul-it looks great now. Nothing better
than a clean barn full of animals! A great classroom.
Taylor, collecting milk.
These girls have talked the chickens into coming to the
backdoor to spy on us. They are Clair, Meta, and Rock n Roll (who is
boarding here for the winter, and bred to Dragonsnap).
This is
our lovely Poppit. She is a registered full blood Boer goat. She is
visiting her husband back at the farm we bought her from (Destiny Lane
Boers). We hope to have twins this year, but she is likely to kid
triplets again. She is the funniest of our critters, being quite a
comical little character. Poppit is my personal favorite.
