DA-IICT (Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology)



DA-IICT
is setup by Reliance Group near Indroda Circle, Gandhinagar. It is designed as a unique programme covering various areas of study in Information Technology, Communication Technology, Multimedia and Infocom business.

Programs at DA-IICT
It was established in 2001. Initially offering only the BTech program in ICT (Information and Communication Technology, it now offers Ms(IT), MTech(ICT), MS(IT-Agriculture) and PhD programs also.


The Undergraduate Programme at DA-IICT
This programme is offered in 8 semesters, over a four- year period. This programme was launched from academic year 2001-02. On successful completion of the four-year program. DA-IICT awards its own B.Tech in Information and Communication Technology. The content of four - year undergraduate programme is at par with any B.E./B.Tech. programme.

Right from the inception, the Government of Gujarat has been actively supporting and patronizing the development of the Institute.
Recently, the Legislative Assembly of Gujarat has passed an Act granting university status to DA-IICT.

Selection Process and Contents of DA-IICT
 
The students who wish to study at DA-IICT have to appear for an open entrance test. This test is held in the month of May after 12th board exam is over.
Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Logical Reasoning are the subjects which students need to prepare for the entrance test. Duration of the test is 2 hours and it is purely objective in nature. No subjective questions are asked. Weightage of Chemistry is comparatively lower than Physics or Maths.

Eligibility for appearing in exam of DA-IICT
The minimum academic qualification for admission is a pass in 10 + 2 or its equivalent with mathematics, physics and chemistry. Those who are appearing in the 12th exam are also eligible to appear in the entrance test for consideration of provisional admission. All provisional admissions stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying exam is not submitted to the institute by September 30th of the year of admission.

Total 240 seats are available for this 4-year undergraduate programme.

Placement @ DA-IICT
DA-IICT claims to arrange campus placement activity which students can exploit by putting concrete performance. However DA-IICT has its own plan to absorb entire batch or partially in their promoters group company Reliance Infocom Limited.
