High Visibility Safety Vests
A new federal rule requires responders to wear the vests while conducting operations on roadways supported by federal dollars. Mandatory compliance is required by Nov. 24, 2008. View the Powerpoint presentation at the Responder Safety website here .

MOLST Bill Passed by NYS Assembly & Senate
This legislation amends the public health law, in relation to demonstration programs for alternative forms for nonhospital orders not to resuscitate and makes the MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment Program) permanent and statewide. It is currently awaiting the Governor's signature. Read more.

Utility Rates for V.F.D.'s & V.A.C.'s
Contact all your State Legislators to urge their support for S05059 & A04636. This bill will allow utility companies to charge volunteer fire & ambulance services at the RESIDENTIAL rate.
Support Intro. 519-2007
The State Association is asking squads to contact their City Council Member in support of Intro. 519-2007. This legislation would permit volunteer squads to purchase gas and diesel fuel at a discounted price from designated city agencies. You may use the text in this letter or write your own. You can find your Council Member's name and email address on The New York City Council website.
