Modified Simple Triage and Rapid Transport (S.T.A.R.T)
The Modified Simple Triage and Rapid Transport (S.T.A.R.T) scheme that was previously approved by the State EMS Council (SEMAC) for use in New York City is being implemented. NYC REMSCO advises that NYC REMAC will be issuing an Advisory. Packages with supplies and instructional material will be provided to each squad.
Updated REMAC Protocols
Effective August 1st, 100% compliance with the 2011 REMAC Protocols is in effect. Are all your members updated? The changes are posted on the NYC REMSCO site.
CME Refresher Bill
The New York State Legislature has extended the pilot program that allows continuing education recertification for emergency medical services technicians through July 1, 2015.
Certified EMS Agency Information Update Form
When there is a change to an agency Chief Officer (due
to elections, promotions, etc.), agency address or contact
information the NYS DOH should be notified by filing form
DOH 2936.
