Cy's Rabbitry

Cy's Rabbitry

I started raising rabbits as a teenager.  My brothers and sisters took them over when I started teaching.  Eventually they sold the rabbits.  A couple of years before I retired, a friend gave me a red Dutch buck.  I thought I'd  get a doe or two to go along with the buck.  Within the next year, I collected quite a few "very special does" and I was in business.

Now that I'm retired I raise Tans, Giant Flemish, Holland Lops, Lionheads and Dutch.

My Rabbitry is located about three miles north of Springville, N.Y.

Holland Lop Background:

About a year ago, my good friend, Dan Grande encouraged me to consider raising Holland Lops.  To start out, he shared a few junior and senior Hollands out of some of his best stock with me.  Since then, I have raised some stock from Dan's Hollands and had a couple does that I could return to Dan to kind of "share back".  We recently began to share more and more.  So, we’ve decided to combine our efforts in a small “co-op” like way.

This will NOT be a full co-op effort, meaning that we are only sharing a few select Hollands with each other.   However, the ones we combine efforts on will bear these co-op names:  “Cy-Dan’s” [meaning they were born at Cy’s] and “Dan-Cy’s” [meaning they were born at Dan's].

There will be only a small amount of Hollands out there that will bear these “Co-op” names.  I am glad Dan thought about this partnership and am so happy that he got me started in raising Hollands!
