Crystal Waters Weyr

Location

Crystal Waters Weyr is located South-West of where the uninhabitable of the old High Reaches Weyr used to be. It is half way between the ruins and Tillek Hold, found by a large lake North of the bay. It is responsible for all the territory that High Reaches Weyr, as well as Fort Weyr, were once responsible for.

History

Then

Crystal Waters Weyr had long since lost its last natural bred Queen. But the headwoman's daughter, Thaira, had gone to White Sands Weyr, where she had successfully Impressed Falconth. She had refused to stay, and had come up with quite a few excuses before she could finally return to Crystal Waters, some six turns after Impression.

Akayla of green Reth's Weyrwomanship was upturned by the return of a gold dragon to the Weyr. Akayla had allowed the Goldrider to do so rather unwillingly, but had no say against the greater authority of Falconth. Reth was quite happy to relinquish her leadership.

Turns passed, and Thaira became a shrewd woman. She was angry at the lack of respect she received from Holders, and fought to gain back some semblance of leadership back to the Weyr. At least to be heard at Conclave.

She was in the middle of this process when a man, bloody and hurt, appeared from Between on his bronze.

They were one of the only two Weyrs that believed Thread was still coming. When O'riyon and bronze Draeth literally fell out of the sky, claiming to be from the future with a message to warn against Thread fall, their worries and belief was confirmed. However, it was impossible for O'riyon to remember where he came from, let alone when he came from. More doubts flourished. Dragons began to leave. Then a terrible bout of firehead devastated the Weyr, leaving it crippled.

Now

Thaira has been quiet lately. She's planning something, but no one quite knows what.
O'riyon is the Weyr's only active Wingleader, having the most experience with Thread. He would make a good Weyrleader, but for some reason, Falconth will not let his Draeth catch her.
The Weyrlings have matured well and have all graduated, including the white dragon, Speranth, who Impressed to An'zell.
Siarene's Gold Galioth has clutched fourteen eggs, most every one with distinct markings, a sign of a strong clutch.
