His breeding up close breeding contains the best cow horse bloodlines available....His sire is a legendary stallion in his own right and sire and grand sire of many Australian Champion level Halter and Performance horses. He in turn is the direct son of two World Champion and NCHA Hall of Fame recipients Peppys San & Fizzabar (her success in the working cowhorse and cutting arenas commenced the recoginition of the Doc Bar Dynasty). Matlock's dam is by Cuttabars Colonel IMP awarded a Bronze Centry for performances in the Cutting Pen and he too a sire of many great Australian halter and perfomance horse. Gay Bar Cutta's dam was the lovely palomino mare Gay Bar Goldie IMP who amongst her successes was Australian Champion cutting mare.
Matlock has only been campaigned lightly however he has had wins and placings in Challenges, Working Stock Horse events and Campdrafting throughout SW Queensland. Consistantly scores 84+ rounds and highest cut outs (22/23) in Drafts. As testiment to his ability to throw lovely conformed progeny.
His only foal shown to date had achieved Multi Supremes and Best foal of Show awards in the SE Qld region.
