My name is Renee and I am a 26 year old mother of two (a 7 year old girl and a 9 year old boy). I am located in the Charlottesville area of Virginia and am currently training for my doula ceritification through ALACE.

As far back as I can remember, I have always been drawn to pregnancy and childbirth. It took me a while to figure out how I would turn that from a passion to a career. Being a doula was the PERFECT choice for me. Now I am able to be part of childbirth, while also helping other women who wish to feel empowered.

Back when I had my kids (1998 and 2000) I was clueless. If only I knew then what I know now. For my first birth, I had a widwife. She was so kind and gentle. I was able to have a natural labor and delivery. For my second I had a regular OB and everything was so medical. I felt more like ET (being hooked up to all those machines) then a birthing mother. Had I known about doula's back then, I would have had one by my side, helping to keep me informed about my options, to try new laboring positions, and to assist me in delivering as natural as possible.

I may not have had a doula for my births, but you can! You deserve to have the best, most wonderful experience of your life. That's what i'm here for. Im here to provide you and your partner with support, compassion, information, and resources. I work hard to make sure all your needs are met, and your wishes during labor are fulfilled.
