There are always needs for any group. We have secured a few volunteers already. We can always use more volunteer members who have a heart for the disabled community.
Keeping in mind that we are a faith based organization, we ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us in a support capacity. We do realize that there are grants available, from the federal government, for not-for-profit, faith based organizations. The situation with those funds is such that we may not personally share our faith while receiving these grant opportunities. In other words, we may call ourselves a Christian organization, but will lose funding if we practice our faith as Christians.
To allow us the opportunity to expand our outreach to the disabled community, we are in need of donations, including monetary, in kind services and durable goods.
Our Association needs a permanent office location, which can accomodate separate office spaces, training areas, meeting rooms and accessible facilities, in which we can collaborate our efforts to best serve the citizens of Lynchburg and surrounding counties. The space should also include room for a wheelchair repair shop and enough square footage to accomodate a Thrift Shop, which will allow CVDA to provide supported employment.
