Central Valley Affiliate of the California Association of School Psychologists (CVA-CASP)

Welcome!

CVA-CASP was founded in 1968 and is an affiliate of the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP).  We are a membership organization for school psychologists in the greater Fresno area.  With a membership of more than 70 in the 2007-2008 year, CVA-CASP hopes to continue to grow.  CVA-CASP membership is comprised of individuals who work in school districts and private practice.

A Message from the Board 2008-2009

Hello dear colleagues!  We hope the school year has been kind to all of you so far, and you are all in good spirits.  The CVA-CASP board has met a few times and is planning the year with activities and workshops.  We have also developed a few goals for the organization this year and beyond

One of the goals the board had set this year was the development of a website.  As you can see, this goal has already been met.  There is limited content at this point, but you can contact us from the website and download the membership form.  We will be adding a calendar of events, useful resource links, and a photo album of events as they are held.

Another very important goal is the creation of additional Board Member positions and committee development to increase general member participation.  This is crucial to the strength and vitality of any professional organization.  We need new individuals in leadership positions to ensure the continuity and vigor of CVA-CASP.  If you are interested in becoming a Board Member or would just like to attend a board meeting, please contact us at cva-casp@live.com or by using the Contact Us page.

The remaining goals included increasing overall CVA-CASP membership by twenty members, increasing C.A.S.P. membership by local school psychologists, increasing C.A.S.P. convention attendance by local school psychologists, increased financial support of the Political Action Committee of C.A.S.P., and the development of a three year plan of action for CVA-CASP.  If there are any other goals you would like us to address, please e-mail us at the address above.

Lastly, we hope that those of you who were members in the past will renew your membership this year.  The small membership fee that we collect is our primary source of funding.  Our resources are very limited at this point, so I encourage you to renew your membership as soon as possible.  We would also appreciate it if each one of you could encourage just one colleague to join along with you.  This will go a long way in helping us support our profession at the local level.  We look forward to seeing all of you at one of the up-coming CVA-CASP events.
