Curtis Jay is an Electric and Acoustic Bassist residing in the Nashville, TN area. Beginning his musical career in 1978, with genres including Bluegrass, Country, Western Swing, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Pop, & Rock 'n Roll, Jay has toured and recorded with many greats in each catagory from Lynyrd Skynyrd's ARTIMUS PYLE, to Chicago Blues legend JIM SCHWALL. Spending nearly a decade touring with Country Music Superstar DOUG STONE, Curtis can be heard on Stone's releases, "Harmful to the Heart", "The Long Way", and Doug's newest on Lofton Creek Records, "In a Different Light". Curtis records with many other artists, and is readily available for sessions. With a vast array of instruments, and top-notch tube Bass Outboard Gear, an Engineer or Producer will not be spending much time getting a "Bass Sound", or wondering if the Bassist is familiar with "this style of music". Whether it be from a German-Made Acoustic Upright, a recent Fretted or Fretless Electric Bass, or a Vintage 1968 Fender Telecaster Bass run through one of his top-of-the-line Studio Systems, it can be assured that the Engineer, Producer, and Artist will be quite pleased with the result!
