Foot Care

Did I scare you?
If so do not worry these feet look better than others I have seen. The feet shown above just have a lot of reddness and blisters. The least of your worries.

First things first Toe Pads! They love your feet and your feet love them. There are a veriety of Toe Pads.
Lambs Wool (comes form fitting to your foot or you can buy a box of lambs wool and wrap your feet with it or stuff the bottom of your pointe shoes with it.)
Ouch Pouch (a regular fabric padding)
Gel (just an all gel pad)
Gellows (gel on the inside padding on the outside)
If you dont preffer to wear any Toe Pads thats ok.

In the picture above shows Greek Feet. (When second toe is the longest toe)You may wonder how do you put all that pressure on one skinny little toe?
It is simple you take some labs wool or small gel toe padding and put it under your big toe so you are putting pressure on both your 1st and second toes.

Another method of padding is using jelly tips to prevent black toenails and ingrown toenails. You can also use jelly tubes to prevent and protect blisters, or if you do not want to use jelly tubes you can use toe tape or just plain old regular tape.
Remember to cut your toe nails at least once a week. Make sure when they are cut you take the tip of your finger and put it on your toe. You should just about feel your toenail.
As for after Dance care you should not soak your feet in warm water because it disables your skin from building up a tough surface. Ice your feet instead and clean them with rubbing alchahol.
Bandage your feet if you have any open cuts or blisters.
Black toenails means you either are cutting your toenails to short or your toenails are too long. The formal name is Bruised Toenails.
If you get an Ingrown toenail be sure to call your doctor to have it taken out!
