This is a brand new website designed to teach people about railroading. It will teach you about everything from the story of railroad evolution, to parts and characteristics of certain locomotives. There is even a section on model railroading. Old, new, General Electric, Electro-Motive Division, it's all here. If you happen to see any picture or anything that is yours and you would not like it on this site, simply call me at and I will be glad to help work it out.

Current backround photo
The current photo on my backround is BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) 9483. It is an SD70MAC built by EMD. The SD70MAC was the first AC (Alternating Current) unit to be produced ever. BNSF made history when they placed the largest locomotive order in history by purchasing 350 SD70MACs at almost $2,000,000 per copy. AC engines were 1st tested on EMDs SD60M in 1992. The product was amazing! Within the 1st few months of service BNSF bumped the order to 434. They found out the SD70MACs were the ultimate engines for ore trains in the fabled Powder River Basin in Wyoming. Typically they would need 5 older models such as SD40-2s, with 1 or 2 more units pushing on the back. They only needed 3 SD70MACs though, and no more on the back pushing. Thats basically a 1 for 2 ratio.
