Lots of guinea pigs and rabbits have been
found dead in
their out-door hutches recently - please bring
them
into a shed or some place of proctetion and
give
masses of hay for them to snuggle in until
this
unusually cold snap passes.
Give them extra veg and keep the dry food dish topped up as they need this to keep up
their energy which they use up quickly just trying to keep
warm.
We specialize in Rex, Teddy, most types of Long-haired and Pet piggies.
We live in West Sussex.

My hobbies include reading, music and gardening, when I get time for these! Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, horses, indoor/outdoor fish and guinea pigs have all been included in my life at some point throughout the years. So you could say that I have been fortunate to have always had a family that loves animals as much as I do, for I would be lost without them. When my three sons were small, in the 1980's, we were living in a 5/6 bedroom victorian semi with a garden on a massive slope, most unsuitable for young children and animals for that matter. We had three dogs, a cat, and 26 guinea pigs. I bought my first pig from Dave and Terry who were then living in Hassocks - a lovely cream sow. Having bought her, I decided that one litter from her would be good and sent her back to them to be mated to one of their boars. She had some lovely babies which of course increased my numbers and gave me the urge to buy a boar, a chocolate one this time. The combanation of cream and choclate was delightful. I did a bit of local showing and have a few rosettes in the attic somewhere. We then moved to a considerably smaller detached house with an enormouse garden, but not designed for piggies, so I sold out to a lady from the North. Over 30 years passed before my youngest daughter, Laura, asked me one day if we could have a guinea pig - the following week we marched down to our local pet shop and bought a baby crested tort/white sow, Candyfloss - the wildest thing you can imagine. Now we have lots of cavies, with wonderful roomy cages, all snug and warm in the winter in their shed, and their guinea pig runs on the lawn, weather permitting, during the summer months. I like to think that we offer our fury friends the best happy life possible - I hope so. They certainly give us great pleasure, and I can't imagine a life without them.

My name is Laura Chaitow and I love to show (when I do I go in Juvenile as I am 14 years old) but we don't do it so often anymore. We still breed even though we are constantly trying to cut down on guinea pigs.
I love taking part in sports such as netball, football, tennis, rounders, hockey, basketball, swimming, athletics, rollerblading, cycling, and I think possibly every sport I've been fortunate to play - not horseriding though. I play the keyboard/piano and would like to learn many instruments like guitar, though I have taught myself a bit. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, listening to music, going on the computer, watching tv, sleeping, eating, being with my friends and making websites.. all of that normal stuff :D
After a while of having guinea pigs, we have learnt a lot about showing, breeding and owning cavies and have came across some wonderful looking guinea pigs in all shapes and sizes, breeds etc! We show in pets and in purebred, in Adult and Juvenile.
I was born in Haywards Heath and have lived in Hassocks for the whole of my life so far.
I love animals, especially guinea pigs... and penguins. (:
Here is some information and photos
about our other pets that we own:
This is our Sheltie, Flossie, taken last year - isn't she cute.

Flossie relaxing in Laura's bed - soppy thing.

Caught in the act.
Jessie sitting on a friend's settee - naughty girl. And she
knows it!

Walkies!
Ruby, our new Light Sussex - sitting on an upside down
flower pot and lapping over the edge of it. Yet she seems
contented enough.
Apricot, our new Frizzle bantam cross. So pretty, and loves being cuddled.
Thanks for reading. Take a look
