Heroes

We often think of heroes and how they shape the lives of others in what they do. We take for granted that there are heroes that walk among us each and every day.  Heroes change lives, and at Pack 219, we are fortunate to have many people who step up on a daily basis to help us. I would like to take a moment to recognize some of these folks for their incredible generosity to our scouting program.  The following people and organizations have gone above and beyond in their support of Pack 219.

Glen Alpine United Methodist Church, Thrifty Mart, Doogie's Pizza and Subs, Carolina Ribbon Crafts, GAUMC Methodist Men, GAUMC Methodist Women, Larry Saunders, Doug Pitts, Steve and Judy Byrd, BJB Sports, Town of Glen Alpine, Jerry Causby, Glen Alpine Police Dept, Glen Alpine Fire Dept, Burke County Office of Emergency Management, Burke County EMS, West End Fire Dept, Capt. Brad Browning, Morganton Dept. of Public Safety, Burke County Sheriff's Office, Lt. Tom Rhyne, WMNC Radio, WCIS Radio, The News-Herald, Dr. David Clontz, WA Young Elementary School, Glen Alpine Elementary School, Abbie Teeple, Randy Nichols, Bill Edmiston, Bob McGhinnis, City of Morganton Water Resources, The Inn at Glen Alpine, Rev. David J Duncan, Rev. Frank Gordon, Damon Pollard, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, History Museum of Burke County, Draka Communications/Americas, Paul Vanover, Our dedicated scout volunteer leaders and finally, our parents who make an effort each week to dedicate a portion of your time to share in the scouting experience with your son.

In addition to those listed above, there are many others who step up to support our pack without hesitation when asked.  I thank you all for helping us make a difference for our youth.  You are my heroes.

Sincerely,

Tom Dula

We welcome our new DE Shane Arrowood

Pack 219 extends a warm welcome to Shane Arrowood, our new Table Rock District Executive.  Shane is an Eagle Scout and comes from Rutherford County.  He has been very busy getting acquainted with the responsibilities of his new position, but managed to spend time each day helping out at the summer day camp.  We look forward to working with Shane to help improve the scouting programs throughout Burke and McDowell Counties.

Pack Prayer

We thank you, God, for our pack, and for all the boys and families who are touched by Scouting.  Make us strong as we work together and help other people and as we do our duty to you and our country.  Help us to remember to live by the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack. Amen.
