C. Thomas McIntire (1939 - ), Ph.D.(Pennsylvania), M.A. (Pennsylvania), M. Div. (Faith), B.A. (Shelton), is professor of history and religion, University of Toronto and a fellow of Victoria College. He has been at the University of Toronto since 1982, where he is, in addition to Religion, cross-appointed to the Department of History, the Centre for South Asian Studies, and the Collaborative Graduate Program in Womens Studies. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge, Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, Università di Firenze, and the Université canadienne en France. He is currently writing a World History of Modern Christianity, in connection with which he spent his last sabbatical in Rome and recently visited diverse Christian communities in China.
