We are working on making these ideas a reality for this school year.

Student Short Film Festival:

This event will feature several short films (no longer than 20 minutes) created by CSR students and hand picked by the English Club. The screening will conclude with one film which the audience recognizes for its creativity, story-telling excellence, and cinematography. The creators of this film will be hoisted onto a marble pedestal and showered with incredible gifts and prizes. Look for advertising and more information on this event soon.

Charity and Volunteer Opportunities:

This year, we would like the English Club to share their passion of writing, reading, and story-telling through community outreach projects.

Some ideas we have are:

Poetry Lesson:

We would like to take a trip to a local Hospice group or old age home to teach a simple poetry lesson. We realize that writing is therapeutic and cathartic. To create something beautiful, makes people feel better about themselves, and we want to pass this on.

Reading Material Drive:

We hope to collect books and magazines for Albany County Jail. In our own lives reading has been relaxing, entertaining, and informative and we know that a book can change a person's life for the better. Donating these reading materials may help in inmate rehabilitation and thus help to make our community a better place.
