CSI Projects

Challenge your writing!

All The Things You Want To Know...

If you have any questions email me at: thecsiprojects@googlemail.com

Is this open to any CSI setting?

Yes, it doesnt matter if you write for CSI Vegas, Miami or New York....if what you write is CSI then feel free to sign-up for a Project.

Do you have to write for a certain 'ship to join?

No...this is a open to any and all 'ships so it doesnt matter if youre a GSR 'shipper, Sandle, Danny/Lindsey, Stella/Mac or Ryan/Callie. As long as its CSI based its welcome :)

Do I have to have a certain writing abiltiy to join?

No, it doesnt matter if you only have one WIP to your name or if you have the most hits and reviews on ff.net. This is about challenging your ability no matter what level it is.

If I become a member do I have to join every Project?

Nope :) Participating in projects are totally up to you, some might not be able to/ want to join every Project which is why there are sign-ups for each project.

Do I have to become a member?

No, but it is recommended and ther are benifits.

What are the benifits of becoming a member?

Becoming a member will make it easier for both you and me. It will mean you wont have to put you penname/email addy/ what setting you write etc everytime toy sign-up for a Project, you wont need to put your penname/email addy when you submit work. You also get to find out about new Projects first, get the dates for the 3 Projects we currently run first, are able to sign-up first, get results/find out your secret writer before they are published on the site and get to trial new Projects before the become offical on site.

Isnt the naming and shaming policy a bit hard?

I dont think so. Running the Projects is HARD work, especially CSI Santa which runs from Nov-Jan. Having writers drop out deadline day is not acceptable...it means so much extra work for me, I have to find back-up writers or write a fic myself, on top of the other stuff I have to do and if more than one person does this as I have had happen in the past then you can just imagine the stress it is for me. Please remeber guys as much as I LOVE the ProjectsI do run this site alone, I am still just a 19yr old Uni student with just as many deadlines as you all have, a family I need to find time to spend with, a job, and unlike you I dont get the option of just writing a short fic. I have to do sign-ups, send assignments, deal with those that are having difficulties, find back-ups, makesure everyone hits the deadlines and send out the fics to you all. My job doesnt finish until Christmas Eve on CSI Santa and then by Boxing day Im starting on the Archives, site updates and authors revealed pages that need to be up 6 days later.

What if I sign-up and cant write the assignment?

We have hit this problem in the past where a GSR 'shipper for example has to do a YoBling 'ship. The answer to this is please try first. Just because it isnt your usual ship doesnt mean you cant do it. When i first had to write a GSR fic (and those that know me know Im a Sandle gal) I thought it would be a nightmare...I even wrote it as a Sandle fic and changed the names than made Grissom more grissomish lol. I do realise that this is a probelm for some people and because of this we are working on a CSI Data page with random CSI facts and our CSI Angels will soon be in place to deal with specific problems. I know that the Projects can be challenging but thats why they are there to challenge your writing skills so please all try.

How long does the fic have to be?

Min of 800words (just under 2 A4 types sides) and as long as you can manage in the time frame :P

I only watch one setting, does that mean the fic I'll be given to write will focus just on that show?

Yes. I will never intentionally give a fic to someone of a setting they dont write. I wont promise that just because you are a Sandle 'shipper I'll send you a Sandle assignment but if on your sign-up sheet you say you only write Miami, for exapmle, you will only get Miamia assignments.

Where did you get my email addy from?

Most people on this site are writers on fanfiction.net. If personally emailed you to invite you to the site I would have got your email addy from your profile page.
