Splattacus Jack

Splattacus Jack scores a hat trick!  On the 1st September at Portland Canine Agility Show Jack won Grade 4 Agility, followed by Grade 4 jumping and then topped it off with the final class of the day Grade 1-5 Agility.

Jack is a three year old rescue border collie.  He had a very bad start in life and was kept in a garage for almost a year before being passed to a re-homing..  In the rescue centre he was often overlooked as his delinquent behaviour meant that staff had difficulty in handling him and he was rarely brushed or walked.  He still has many issues (including being afraid of the dark) but in the two years since we have been training Jack he has come on in leaps and bounds.  Most of the time he is almost civilised.  He loves agility and whilst it certainly tires him out it can also bring out the worst in his behaviour.  At home though he is a perfect gentleman.

Last year he won out of Grade 1 and 2 and this year he won out of Grade 3 on the 1st July.  The show at Portland was his first Grade 4 competition, so winning one class would have been good, but three is a miracle!   So far this year Jack has won 25 trophies, in both individual events and pairs competitions and missed qualifying for Olympia by 0.01seconds!
