CIVIL SERVICE C.C.

Season 2008

Club History

Civil Service C C started life as Post Office Telephones in 1976 when most of the players were Telephone Engineers.  The team played at the Civil Service Sports Club in Wentworth Green and played friendlies for a couple of seasons.

In 1978 the team joined the Norfolk League and the next season won Division 4.  When the company changed name the club followed suit and became British Telecom in 1981.  Promotions were gained and the club made it to Division 1 in1983

In 1986 as the number of engineers in the team began to fall a name change to Civil Service was decided.  With the closure of the Civil Service Sports Club in 1999 the club had to find a new home and moved to Sprowston Rec for a few seasons, but now reside at the UEA Sports Park.
