| Note*-- Part 1 Image blending is complete. It is not neccessary to take part 2 (it is still being written) unless you are interested in learning how to blend using a different technique.
For this tutorial I will be using these two images.
| ||
| 1. Choose one images and copy it. Then open up Photoshop, open up a new document (CRTL + N) and then paste onto the new document. | ||
| 2. Next choose the second image and paste it onto the same document you have pasted the first one on. | ||
3. Now you should have two layers and one background in the layers tablet. Like this: ![]()
4. Next make sure you are on the second image's layer. To be able to tell that you are on it click on the second layer and it should be highlighted blue. Like this: ![]()
5. Click on the Retangular Marquee Tool (M), and select a portion of the image you want to be deleted. There should be a dotted line in the selected portion. Like this: ![]()
6. While the image selected right click on the image and a menu should open like this: .click on 'Feather...'. A window should open up like this: . Click 'ok'. Tip- In this tutorial I'm using a feather of 25 to get a really nice blend but you can experiment with the different feathers.
7. Now hit the backspace or delete button and the selected area should be deleted but looks blended in with the other image. Next deselect the selected area by clicking on the image itself. The image should look like this once it is deselected: ![]()
| 8. That is it. You have now blended two images together. Once you get the hang of it you can blend more than two images or find more uses for feathering. There is another way to blend images using photoshop but part two is in the process of being written. |
FYI- All tutorials on this site have been tested. Meaning that we ask someone who does not know how to do it to try it. If they learn how to do it without any problems we put it up on the site. If they experience any problems we rewrite the tutorial until it is right. With that said this tutorial has not been tested. If there is any questions please ask. Thank you for taking this tutorial. - Crystal.
