US TOUR COMES TO AN END, HOME SWEET HOME HERE WE COME Posted by Pat After a awesome month in the US, unfortunate cancelled shows, delayed equipement but amazing amazing shows, the tour is sadly over. But, the end is only bittersweet since we can walk away with awesome memories... Our good friends The Plain White T's killed it everynight and we got to meet and hang out with Straylight Run and Paramore. Thos Paramore kids are amazing and the coolest people too, so check out their record. The end of a tour also means the beginning of another and Canada, here we come. Long time in the making, this is the canadian tour of canadian tours: we are hitting coast to coast and no city will be left unrocked. If you are in Canada, I guarantee that there is no better cure for your frost bites than a SP show. The tour had it's first outing last night in Denver, Colorado to a great crowd and good times. Doors had to be delayed as technical problems arose, but in the end I'm pretty sure that all were pretty happy as Simple Plan took the stage and rocked the Denver crowd. After all this international travel it's also good to be back in front of familiar faces and back on the bus with our own stuff. The guys all have their favorite bunks to sleep in, favorite food in the fridge and favorite movies on TV. (Actually last night we all watched iRobot, which I don't think is anyones favorite movie, but who can resist Will Smith in a sci-fi action flick?) Today, the boys were in Omaha and as I write this, they are one song from being done the set. Another great night, with a sold out show! Not bad for a city the band has never played before. Tomorrow is a day of and then it's more shows, shows, shows. These have been a lot more intimate than some other shows that the boys have done, so you should definately check out the tour dates and come by and say hi! Originally scheduled for Friday, the awards had been advanced to Thursday but are now being cancelled all together for security precautions. As I write this, the guys are on their way to the airport to leave cancun and make it safely into San Diego where the US tour starts saturday. This is unfortunate and the guys were looking forward to performing but these are unusual circumstances and unfortunately out of everyones hands. Hope to see you all on the tour this month! The guys have already played two amazing shows in Rio Dejaneiro and Sao Paolo.. No one knew what to expect and were blown away when over 8,000 people showed up in Rio and 30,000 in Sao Paolo! Now that's what I call Brasilian hospitality. Today is our last day over here and we then fly to Buenos Aires. Time is really flying by and before you know it, the boys will be in Australia and then back to the US. Posted by Simple Plan We are extremely sad to announce that we had to cancel our performance on the Hurricane Katrina Relief show on MTV. Last night, at our show in Stratford Ontario, Pierre was injured while performing on stage. We had to stop the show early and he had to be rushed to the hospital. Pierre and everybody in the band really wanted to come back and finish the show....Unfortunetely, his condition did not permit this. We are really sorry about that and would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans who came out to the concert. We were hoping that Pierre would be ok to be playing on the Hurricane Relief show today but he was in no shape to be performing. Helping out all the people who suffered from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina was very important to us and we feel awful that we had to pull out of the show. We hope all you guys understand. Pierre is resting right now and, don't worry, he will be fine and ready to rock again in time for our South American tour! Thanks for all your support. SP FORCED TO CANCEL SHOW DUE TO CONFLICTING SCHEDULE Posted by Pat I'm sad to have to announce, that due to unforseen international commitements, the guys have been forced to cancel what would of been the first show of their upcoming tour down under. The September 29th show in Christ Church, New Zealand has been canceled with tickets being however honored at SP's other NZ date, in Auckland, on October 1st. The guys sincerely apologize for this unforseen cancelation and hope that fans can make it to Auckland. Every other show in New Zealand is on, almost sold out and promises to rock! There are almost no tickets left for all the shows so the guys are super stoked and can't wait to see all their amazing nz and aussie fans. See you down under! They are proud to announce that they will be taking part of "ReAct Now: Music & Relief", a huge concert being held on September 10th and broadcast from New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Atlanta on MTV, VH1, CMT, MTV2, VH1 Classic and MTVu. The special event will is being set up to raise money for the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, America's Second Harvest and tons of artists are participating, including Green Day, Usher, Kanya West, The Rolling Stones, Kelly Clarkson, Motley Crue and a bunch more. The guys shot the clip about 3 weeks ago in Los Angeles and this is by far the most powerful and moving video the guys have made and they can't wait for you all of you to see it. The song is really important for the guys and they really wanted to say something important with this video and hopefully raise awareness. Invasion Crew Members will be the first lucky ones to get a glimpse: on tuesday morning April 26th, the IC will have a link to a 30 second preview. For more information visit RoveLive.com March 2nd 2005 SP ARRIVE IN SYDNEY, ROCKS A SHOW AND PREPARES FOR FIRST EVER AUSTRALIAN MTV AWARDS Posted by Pat The flight was long but boy was it worth it. Sydney is the most beautiful city ever! The guys arrived and had a day off in front of them, so they went to Bondi Beach to catch some sun and some waves. Next on the schedule was rehearsals for the Australian MTV Awards. It's the first time ever that they are held here and the Osbournes are hosting, should be f*%$ng amazing. Simple Plan will be down under for two weeks opening up for Green Day on their Australian tour, but the boys squeezed in a headlining show of their own. That was last night and boy oh boy did it go off! The show was sold out, completely packed and everyone had sooo much energy it was off the hook. Definately a good welcome back after two and half years of absence on the continent. Today was the full dress rehearsals for the awards and as I type this the guys are getting dressed for the red carpet, which is happening in an hour. The show is gonna be awesome with Green Day performing, Ja Rule, Switchfoot and our Canadian buddy, Bryan Adams. Anyways, i thought i would keep you up to date on the latest, and that's pretty much it. It's almost like you guys are right here with us.
