I built my first model, with my Mother's help, in 1960. It was a 1959 Mercury Convertible. That car is long gone now. That started me on a lifetime of building. Over the last few years, I've come to specialize in Vintage Short Track cars, and Demo Derby cars. This site will always be "under construction"! Check back often, as when I finish builds, I will add them. I am also photographing my entire collection. As these pictures are edited I will be adding them. Updates will occure at least once a week.

When I was young, a couple friends built also. We'd build together, then race them. The usual result was a few destroyed models! I also blew a few up with firecrackers, and burned a few. Shortly after I turned 16, I got my liscense, then my first car. At about the same time I discovered how much fun girls were. Modelbuilding was put aside until I was about 20. I saw a Ford C600 delivery truck model that was very much like a truck I drove occasionaly. I had to have it, and have been building steadily ever since. I have built all different types of cars, trucks, airplanes, and some military vehicles. I started doing a little kit bashing, then some scratchbuilding. Now I cast some of my own resin parts.

As I said, for the last few years, I've specialized in Vintage Circle Track Cars and Demo Derby cars. There is so much out there, that I finally realized I couldn't have it all! Shown below is one of the first cars of this type I ever built. This was built in 1990. I'd built a couple of the Modifieds when they were first released, but time and several moves took their toll. This build was inspired by pictures in an old speedway program I found at a flea market. It's an AMT '40 Ford Coupe. Everything but the tires and a rollbar came from an old builtup. The bumpers are made from plastic stock. This was black plastic, so I know it's an early one!

Use the navigation buttons on the left to view the different pages. Each page is dedicated to a specific type of car. These cars are classed according to how I feel. They are fantasy builds and duplicate no known real cars. They are conceived with a specific era in mind, though. I try to keep all parts period correct. Please sign my guestbook. If you're from one of the modeling boards, include your username so I know who you are! Feel free to contact me at Crustythecabbie@Yahoo.com with corrections or information!
