Punished for deeds long forgotten, the lady known only as the Enchantress waits in her cell; a wall of ice, located on a mountain top, unseen by mortal eyes, untouched for a thousand years. Here she lingers using her mystical energies to enter the dreams of men, searching for those gallant and valiant, for it is only the most virtuous of men who may wield the Glorifhai, an enchanted sword lost in legend - the only blade capable of breaking the spellbound ice keeping the Enchantress prisoner. Yet to her dismay her messages are seen as fantastic dreams. The lady waits...passing into folklore.

Not all men believe these messages to be dreams, one such man is Sir Calaval of the Vale, besieged by visions of the sword and the Enchantress since as long as he could remember, Calaval has taken up the search for the sword of legend and lady of myth and dreams. Upon learning the code of chivalry at an early age his journey to knighthood has not been an easy one, as the son of a farmer, Calaval could not buy or inherit such a title as the rich do but earn one by reputation in the field of battle. And the battles came quick and fast, with every war comes a hero and no greater hero served his King more than Calaval of the Vale, after many years of service Calaval has proven himself to be a natural leader and outstanding soldier and so becoming a knight of the realm. Some say seeking the Glorifhai has cost him his sanity, stories tell that he once found it but as fate would have it lost it soon after, he now rides alone searching for what he lost and the one who found it.

Her given name is Jyni Fox, however her kin know her as the warrior, the witch, the archer - the three. The sister of nine brothers, Jyni has walked with a sword in one hand and a bow in the other since as long as she can remember - much to her mothers disdain. For a halfling she has exceptional healing abilities, comparable to the healing arts of an immortal, thus the uneducated claim her a witch, the enemy claim her a warrior while her allies claim her an archer, for the bow is the weapon she excels. While out hunting for rabbits in the northern most hills from her home Jyni's life was to change forever. At what seemed the speed of light came the riders and in hot pursuit came the knight, knocking Jyni to the ground, fearing for her life she curled up into a ball where she wept. As the tears began to dry and the sound of hooves sped off into the distance Jyni examined her glittering prize. A sword had fallen from one of the riders horses and now the sword, twice her size, was hers. Returning home Jyni dreamt of the riches she could afford when selling her sword with the funny carvings to the highest bidder, but it was not long before the dreams turned to nightmares and in the nightmares a lady behind a wall of the darkest ice would talk to her, telling her to return Glorifhai to its owner - if not the nightmares would never stop. It is now Jyni who searches for Calaval, as he searches for her.
