Barguna is one of the remotest and deprived districts of the country. It is surrounded by Patuakhali, Jhalokathi and Pirogpur district and by Bay of Bengal. Most of its peoples are poor, illiterate and unemployed. The main earning sources are agriculture and fishing and the per capita income of the people is lower than that of the national level.
A group of people came forward to develop the living status of the coastal rural people. In view of developing the region in an organized manner we formed an organization titled “The Coastal Rural and Urban Poor Development Association (THE CRUPDA)&rdquo. It undertakes and implements different projects in order to create opportunities for Unemployed Youths, Poor and Destitute men, women and children and to provide Health facilities including Nutrition, Sanitation, Education, Housing, Income Generating Activities, Agriculture development, Disester Management Activities. Beside this we plan inorder to make the people aware of family planning, environmental pollution for socio-economic development of the people in particular and of the country as a whole. |
