Adult Life - Part II

In March 1993, just 6 weeks after losing my mom to breast cancer, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease.  Hodgkin's Disease is cancer of the lymph nodes.

Talk about being devastated!!

After 6 months of tests, surgery and treatment, I was clear.

The next few years were full of worry and check-ups.

On January 18, 1996 I gave birth to my only child, a daughter.  She weighed in at 9 lbs, 13 oz and 22 inches long.  She had beautiful blue eyes and dark curly hair.  Daddy had gotten what he'd always wanted, a little girl.  She was the apple of his eye and the spitting image of him.

In the fall of 1997, I was diagnosed with hypothyroid.  A result, it seems, from the radiation treatment I had to treat my cancer.  I had lost all the weight I'd gained while pregnant with my daughter, then started gaining it back for no explainable reason.

I also found out that I was suffering from depression, aggravated by my husband's admission that he'd been having an affair for the past 6 months.

Here we go with that devastation again!
