--Welcome to the Clan Biography page--
On January 3rd in 2003 I started my transition from heavy legit DS gamer to lowly PVP player. I had played all the maps; I thought I had a pretty mean level 150 character. I had worked hard and had acquired quite a lot of good equipment and it and I worked well together. I took the big step right into a drop all PVP game and of course one whack, I was dead and I lost all my gear, I tried to resurrect my character, he just killed me again before I could recover my stuff and leave. Then he kicked me out of the game and banned me. I lost it all; I was devastated, mad, and very upset over the whole deal.
I then went to the only known wed site to me at the time as www.dsnetguide.com. There was a new article in the headlines about Glassworks new step by step guide to item modification (commonly called hacking). I read this article and downloaded the tools and printed out the prefixes and suffixes lists put them in a binder and started rebuilding my character's items back. I used chicken world 1.2 map to gather items to be modified and collected armor and such. I was so proud of my ability to change items for the better and make my new character even stronger. In the process I learned how to make complete copies of items and how to make back up copies of my character as of today I have 53 copies of Gungho my normal character. So if I should stray into one of those vicious drop all games I won't loose anything ever again.
I then hosted my own PVP games which I advertised free stuff, no drop all, etc. In these games I hope to impress some clan member into recruiting me (no luck) for my hacking ability. Was I sadly mistaken, but I was able to help out a lot of other DS players who fell victim to those drop alls. I was able to replace armor and rings and swords to those players. Soon I met a very good player who was slumming in with the noobies (me). He started being a regular in my games and as also did another player. I met DSPCR and CoyoteStarFish in these games. They both took me under their wing and taught me how to use my hacking skills to be a stronger player.
In one game about February a person came into my game named Addroy or something like it. He gave me the clan name and told me to join it so I did. I have yet today to ever see him again. All the links and e-mail and such I tried don't work so since I liked the name, I kept it and started my own clan thus was born (CRG) Clan. I have help from allot of the other clans now, as they understand what I really do. (CRG) Clan is dedicated to helping out noobies or new players who want to learn PVP. We don't have many rules the only two I actually enforce is 1. No hosting PVP Drop all games. 2. You must wear your clan armor in official Clan Games. That was enough for new players.
I learned that as clan leader since I couldn't pawn it off on to Addroy. I was stuck with the job. So I played and watched how may players started coming back to the game more then once and on the third time I recruited them. I would then give them a current set of armor and rings and spell book to start them on the training. We then would show them "pot" or potion boosting, then fast boosting came along. Death boosting was just starting to gain popularity but it was not easy to learn as it involved hacking your character stats. Then the new death boosting took hold and has spread like wildfire through the games. It is easier as it is a mod.
I was having problems with npc running my games and spoiling my training, hard to teach when my students are dead. So I asked around the clans for some help and the WL clan came to my rescue. They provided some neat summons also to use. They gave me a copy of their training mod or clan mod 6. I use this mostly when I host games. I use it now to test members I am thinking about adding to the clan. I make them immortal and see how power mad they get. Proves to be quite enlightening as to what they do. I get allot of flack from the serious PVP players cause they don't like mods. They do have a valid point those mods like the WL clan 6 mod is extremely unfair in normal PVP combat. But since I'm training and recruiting I don't worry about those who must always find something to go to war about. I can compete with the big boys but as a rule I let them have all the bragging rights.
(CRG)'s mission is to train new players of PVP to competition levels in the new style of the game. We are not out to steal anyone else's players nor do we care if any other clan recruits our members. I don't have any rules that state you cannot belong to more than one clan. Since in most of the other clans we trained them, we will always have friends. It isn't about being the biggest, fastest, most all power full, it is about playing fair giving other players a chance to play unmolested from the bully boys and training up the future players and making sure all get a good experience of PVP.
