(Mya is owner/operator Sandy Dolan's great niece and has inherited a love of horses)         Mya has been riding at Sandy's since she was 3 yrs old. She started taking "official" riding lessons at age 5. Mya enjoys riding Alice. Alice is great because she is so gentle & perfect for young children. Horse lessons have taught Mya that there is so much more involved to riding horses than she could ever have imagined. I also feel at ease that Sandy is her teacher because safety is very important to her.  Mya's favorite things to do at lessons is riding around the poles & feeding Alice her treat at the end. She is looking forward to riding lessons again this Spring!

My name is Rachel N. and I have been riding at Cedar Ridge Farm for 8 years. Sandy told me I am the longest standing lesson student. I started riding Alice when I was in the first grade and that's where it all began. Sandy taught me western first and then started me on english. In third grade I moved on to Flower another one of Sandy's horses. In fourth grade I went to state with Flower and we got 2nd thanks to Sandy's extra lessons we had fit in! In fifth grade I finally got my own horse, and we had tons of struggles. I went through two more horses who gave us trouble, but I finally got my dream horse, Magic. When I first got him he was a big chicken! Plus my confidence was a little low! Sandy helped us through all the spooks and trailer issues, and now Magic and I don't have so many struggles! I just want to thank Sandy and her horses for making me the horse rider I am!

My family and I would like to Thank Anna for all she has accomplished for us!  Two years ago, my daughter Katie, started her lessons with Anna.  Even though Katie was not so good at English style riding, Anna had great patience with her.  Then Katie decided to learn Western, and Anna helped her do very well (for her age) in the barrels and flag races!
My son, Justin, is twelve.  He started his lessons from Anna last year~ she is great with him also!  She helped build his confidence, and helped coach him through his first show with his horse Patches at Harrison Co,; he walked away with 3 second place ribbons, 1 fifth place, and 1 sixth place!! (in western)
Anna is a great young lady, she even put up with my husband and I asking questions all the time!
So, Thank you Anna!!  We'll see you this year!!

Our daughter Valri who just turned 14 years old has taken lessons at
Cedar Ridge Farm for a year now. When our daughter first started taking lessons last spring she had a goal of cantering. Valri's previous riding instructor at a different
facility never believed she was ever ready to canter but after only a couple of lessons with Sandy at Cedar Ridge Farm my daughter was cantering! I'll never forget how excited we all were! Sandy believed that our daughter Valri could do it and because of that she's a more confident rider and she's very happy having Ms. Sandy as her riding instructor.

Samantha Age 7
Samantha is getting ready to start her second season with Anna. She absolutely loves her lessons (and Flower of course)! She asks me everyday "how many more days" until she can take lessons again. She loves Anna and can't wait to see her again! We love Anna's patience and understanding. She listens to Samantha's concerns, respects her hesitations, and keeps her at a pace that is comfortable and safe for her. We can't wait for spring!

Julia C., 9 years old,  Julia has been taking lessons at Cedar Ridge for about four years.  It is amazing to look back at when she first started and realize how much she has learned.  Sandy is an amazing teacher!  Not only has she has taught Julia how to ride, but has also reinforced respect, self discipline, safety, and self confidence.  I am very glad I chose Cedar Ridge for my daughter's riding lessons.

Nicole is 10 years old and has only taken riding lessons for the fall/winter of 2008.  It has been the best thing she has ever done.  Every day of the week is a countdown to the next lesson.  Endless questions about why we don't go 2-3x per week?
Nicole is a painfully shy child.  She will not perform in ANY sports because she has to "get out in front of people and they will look at her."  Placing her on a horse has been like finding the key to opening my child's self.  On her horse, she is more confident than I have ever seen her. She sees it as something she is successful at.  To see her at the fun show this fall having the time of her life, riding in a show IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE was one of the best days of my life.  She beamed and laughed!  It's been the best thing I could have ever done for Nicole!
Natalie is 7 years old.  She was not interested in riding lessons until she watched her sister's first lesson, crying the whole way through because she wanted to be up on a horse too!  From there on, it was a WEEKLY countdown until she could take lessons in the winter.  She has had just one winter session.  I call the horse riding lessons our family "therapy" session.  We come out, relax, have fun, laugh, and work hard.  What I love BEST is the emphasis on horsemanship and love of horses, NOT competition.  It's learning, not just riding, but caring for and loving a horse.  Thanks, Sandy, so much!

Taylor, age 12 – Taylor has been taking riding lessons from Cedar Ridge Farm with  Sandy Dolan for 4 years.  Taylor looks forward to her weekly lesson and has found a love for horses.  Although she loves to ride she has also learned a lot about taking care of a horse and the responsibilities that go along with them.  Taylor has made several friends when teaming up with riding partners.  We can’t wait for the new season to begin.

Amanda, age 15, has been taking lessons here for 3 or 4 years.  My daughter, Amanda, loves taking lessons with Sandy.  Sandy is very good with kids.  She makes it fun for the kids plus they learn about riding and all of the safety rules that go along with horseback riding.  Needless to say, the grounds are beautiful for riding.
