Crete the southernmost island in Europe has in my opinion every thing you could want! Its mountain villages, long sandy beaches, rocky bays, beach-bar-boogie, nightlife and yet a few minutes away peace and tranquillity. There are magnificent mountain ranges, water-sports, tranquil locations and clean seas. Bathed in clear sunlight much of the year, the climate is one of the best in Europe it is understandably a most popular travel and vacation destination.
Sissi, one of the few resorts that has not been over commercialised , Sissi is a great choice for a relaxing holiday, enhanced by its three pretty coves with sand and pebble beaches. There is also an attractive harbour and typical maze of small, narrow streets in the resort centre,Sissi is the closest resort to Agi Vavara and is well worth the short walk.
Agi Vavara, a small Cretan working village spread over the side of a hill with perhaps seven familes during the winter more of course during the summer. The highlight of the day is when the milk tanker calls to collect the milk from the storage container beside the road. The sea is a very short walk away with a very nice small beach, close to the beach is a tiny church and a hotel.
