Cranberry Tea Time

Welcome to my corner of the world!

Hello friends,

I'm glad you stopped by.  I would like to tell you about my life with dysautonomia and the hope and joy I have despite the difficulties of living with a disability.  Relax, grab a cup of tea, and put up your feet.  I'd like to share my heart with you.

I named my site "Cranberry Tea Time" because to me it is a symbol of heart to heart talks.  Back in college my closest friends and I would often share cups of hot cranberry tea until the late hours of the night (or wee hours of the morning!).  While sipping cranberry tea together we would talk and talk, sharing our hearts.  It was a comfortable, warm, welcoming, and enjoyable time.  That is how I want you to feel when you’re reading on my site.  I want you to feel welcomed into my world, and I want to share what is going on in my life, and the joy that I have despite life's circumstances.

If you have any questions about things I talk about on here, please feel free to send me an email;  I'd love to talk to you some more.  You may e-mail me at: CranberryTeaTime(at)hotmail(dot)com.

If you would like to get to know me better, you are welcome to visit my blog as well.  You can find it here: One Day at a Time.

Before you leave, please stop by my guestbook and say hello!  Thanks for "visiting" me!

Warm regards,

Rachel

Cranberry Tea Recipe

2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

      4 cups water

      3 cinnamon sticks

1 cup honey or sugar (more or less to taste)

Put cranberries, water, and cinnamon sticks in a large pot.  Boil uncovered until skins on cranberries burst.

Remove cinnamon sticks.  Pour the juice through a strainer and into a new pot.  If desired, also strain through a cheese cloth to remove the fine pulp.

Put juice back into pot to boil.  Add honey and sugar to taste.  You now have cranberry juice concentrate.  This can be stored in the refrigerator, or canned for later use.

To serve: Boil water and pour into teacups.  Add cranberry juice concentrate to taste.

Gatorade Tea Recipe

      2 cups powdered orange Gatorade

      1 cup instant black tea

      2 teaspoons cinnamon

      1 teaspoon cloves

Mix ingredients well and store in an air tight container.

To serve: Put two heaping teaspoonsfull into a cup of hot water.  Stir and enjoy!

This recipe is especially for my dysautonomia friends.  This is the perfect beverage for a cold day when you need a warm drink, but also need your electrolytes.
