A New Route - A New Bus - A New Dublin

Dublin Bus : Slane 2009

Dublin Bus operated a major shuttle service to and from Slane Castle on Saturday June 20th 2009.

The shuttle departed from Parnell Square West and went to Slane Castle in Co. Meath, where thousands of music fans were going to see Oasis.

Over 200 buses were used on the day, with various types used including Wedding Buses and unusually, Dennis Tridents from Harristown Garage.

Here is a photo feature capturing the days events.

First we see Harristown ALX400 AV447 about to leave Broadstone Garage to join the que of buses on Parnell Square, loading for Slane.

We now see Ringsend ALX400's AV5 and AV9 on Parnell Square.

Back in Broadstone, Donnybrook Enviro 500 VT5 and Enviro 400 EV100 departing for Parnell Square.

Now on Parnell Square, Phibsboro/Broadstone based Enviro 500 VT25 loads up for Slane.

Below, the special scroll displayed on the shuttle buses.

Below we see the line up of Dublin Buses just outside Slane, where Summerhills AV273(on the left) and AV113(on the right) lead the line up.

Finally, another line up, where Broadstone euro bus AV139 leads.

Well done Dublin Bus, for a successful service throughout the day!
