Dublin Bus introduced Route 4A from Harristown Bus Depot, via City Centre to Stradbrook Road just past Blackrock on Monday 19th November 2007 using mainly Dublin Bus AW artic buses.

The AW Class had been allocated to peak time Xpresso services and Route 10.
There are 20 artic AW's based at Harristown, which have now started to receive the new Dublin Bus logos.
The 4 & 4A are both operated mainly by the 20 AW class, plus some double deckers also.

AX505 sets down in Stradbrook for its next journey. There is alot of room here for buses to lay-over so its ideal for the extra lenght of the AW's too.
Route 4 & 4A are operated by low floor buses 7 days a week.
